Our mission
Making reinsurance work for Africa and beyond
placeIT started as an internal tool to improve how we managed placements. Today, it serves insurers across Ghana, processing thousands of offers and generating documentation automatically.
Our goal is to bring transparency and speed to an industry still reliant on manual processes. By combining decades of underwriting expertise with modern technology, we are helping insurers place risk faster and make smarter decisions.

From a Family Brokerage to a Digital Market Enabler
When I started Visal as a small insurance intermediary in 1981, the industry ran on paper and phone calls. Four decades later, much of African reinsurance still operates that way.
With a young and vibrant team, we set out to change that.
What began as a family operation has grown into a licensed, tech-enabled platform. Today, Visal operates three insurance-regulated entities: Visal Insurance Brokers, Visal Reinsurance Brokers, and Visal Risk Advisors, Mauritius.
We've built placeIT: a digital marketplace bringing transparency and speed to reinsurance placement.
Our mission: Make African reinsurance faster, transparent, and data-driven.
Our vision: Process $10B+ in placements by 2030.
